Our Story

How Sentosa Came to Be

Sentosa began in Bangsar Baru after one of our founding advisers spent several years assisting elderly relatives through the drawn-out process of claiming a deceased spouse's pension. The paperwork was extensive, the language was dense, and the guidance from official channels was thin. That experience made clear there was a need for something more patient and more personal.

We opened our doors on Jalan Telawi 5 with a small team and a straightforward purpose: to sit with retirees and their families, read their documents carefully, and explain what their situation actually means — not in legal shorthand, but in plain Malay and English. We have grown steadily since, expanding our scope to include formal recovery work and comprehensive household arrangements, while keeping the same unhurried approach that started it all.

Today, Sentosa works with individuals across Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley. We handle EPF (KWSP) matters, civil service pension entitlements, and survivor pension coordination. Every case is managed by a named adviser who knows the file, and every client leaves each session with something written — a note, a summary, a letter — so nothing important is left to memory alone.

Our Mission

To make pension and retirement entitlement matters accessible to every Malaysian retiree — not only those who can navigate complex processes on their own, but also those who simply need someone to sit beside them and read the documents clearly.

Our Values

  • Patience above speed
  • Clarity over legal jargon
  • Discretion in all matters
  • Honest assessments, no false comfort
  • Family-aware thinking

How We Work

Our Standards of Practice

Licensed Legal Practice

Sentosa operates as a duly registered legal practice under Malaysian law. All advisory services are rendered in accordance with the Legal Profession Act 1976 and applicable Bar Council guidelines.

Client Confidentiality

All personal, financial, and legal information shared with us is treated as strictly confidential. We do not share client details with third parties except as necessary and with explicit consent.

Written Records at Every Step

We document all advice, correspondence, and case updates in writing. Clients receive copies of everything, so there is always a clear record of what was discussed and what actions were taken.

Transparent Scope and Fees

Before any work begins beyond the initial consultation, we confirm the scope and fee in writing. There are no hidden charges or unexpected additions — the price you agree to is the price you pay.

Elderly-Considerate Service

Our office and approach are shaped around the needs of older clients. Appointments are unhurried, written materials use a comfortable font size, and we welcome a trusted family member to accompany any client.

Personal Data Protection Compliance

We handle all client data in line with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010, including secure document storage, controlled access, and clear retention periods for client files.

Pension Law Knowledge for Malaysian Retirees

Retirement entitlements in Malaysia are governed by several distinct frameworks — the Employees Provident Fund Act 1991, the Pension Act 1980 for civil servants, and supplementary schemes for certain sectors. Navigating these as an individual or a surviving family member can be daunting, particularly when decisions must be made quickly or when correspondence from authorities uses formal language that is difficult to interpret without a legal background.

Sentosa's team focuses specifically on this area. We are familiar with the internal processes at KWSP, the documentation requirements for pension transfers, and the formal channels available when a withdrawal decision needs to be reviewed. We also understand that many of our clients are dealing with these matters for the first time — sometimes in the middle of grief, or while managing another family member's affairs alongside their own.

Our practice is based in Bangsar Baru, conveniently accessible from Kuala Lumpur city centre, Petaling Jaya, and much of the Klang Valley. We see clients by appointment, Monday to Saturday, and are happy to arrange early or late sessions where needed. Correspondence can be conducted in English or Bahasa Malaysia according to your preference.
